Let's talk food waste!
We eat a LOT of veg and fruits in this house, but sometimes things start to turn and spoil faster than expected. I used to toss all the wilty veg into a freezer bag for soup stock, but more recently, have been juicing it! This morning, I salvaged a couple of sad lemons, a dried up knob of ginger, a very brown pear, half a cucumber, and quite a few wonky pieces of celery. Then, I added an equal amount of water (it was perfect to dilute it as the lemon was pretty strong!) So now, I've got this refreshing green juice to sip on throughout the morning, and significantly less food waste. The wee bit of pulp (about 1/4 cup) will go into the compost.

The best way to combat food waste is to buy only what we need, but that's not always easy to do, so we like to find creative ways to use stuff up instead. Do you have any tips or tricks for reducing your own food waste? Share them in the comments!

Hey IG fam!
It's been a while and I'm not sure that Insta is what it used to be - engagement has been down, so it's a little less motivating to go through the motions of photographing a meal, especially with our daylight hours so short - I'll likely be posting a little more frequently as the days get longer and the light starts to come back in! For now, here's a pink smoothie from last week - something about this time of year makes me crave nutrients even more than usual, so I'm filling up on berries, greens, sprouts and all the goodness that nature has to offer.
